Spring Break (mba banking degree)
No commentsBy TR Scott
Spring break - well, the theory is you’ve worked hard in school and need a break…but even if thats only half true, enjoy your time and be safe
Check out our Spring Break specials whether you are college students or a family looking for that special vacation spot. We offer cheap fares on all Spring Break destinations whether you are traveling abroad or to a nearby state. Be sure to make your travel arrangements months in advance. Remember that traveling during Spring Break is a very busy time of year because most schools take their vacations around the same time. The longer you wait to book your vacation the possibility of getting your desired hotel and flight times will be limited. Getting a passport takes time as well, so if you are planning to travel to another country be sure to do this well in advance. Flying Sunday through Wednesday are the less crowded days to travel. Making your reservations so that you can travel during these times will allow a less chaotic experience getting to and from your destination.
The best way to come across great locations to visit are from family and friends. They can tell you which restaurants they would recommend and what there is to do. They will also be able to tell you what to watch out for while you are there. Once you have decided where to go for your trip you should do some research on your own. You will want to familiarize yourself with all that is available to do. If you would like to take day trips while you are there you might need to rent a car. We offer inexpensive rates for car rentals at Quickreservation. If you will be traveling to another country you need to take caution and find out if it’s alright to drink the water and what foods you should avoid. Do your research to help your vacation run as smooth as possible.
If you know that you will be calling home while you’re away you should contact your cell phone provider. Many people have come home from trips to find out that they were charged double or triple for their long distance calls. If it is not included in your calling plan you might want to purchase phone cards before you leave to save you money.
Whenever you travel you should always spread your money around. Never carry it together. When you head out for the day bring along just what you think you will need. Separate that money into different pockets. Leave your credit cards, travelers checks and other cash in the hotel safe.
Students want to have a partying Spring Break experience that they will never forget. In order for this to happen they need to be safe. Too many times you hear of students getting hurt or coming up missing. Keep in mind the following to assure a fun and memorable experience.
Never EVER go anywhere alone. The more people you have with you the safer you will be. Be sure that you have one person in your group at all times that is sober. This person can make sure that no one will leave an establishment with a stranger. When drinking and your judgement becomes impaired you are apt to do things you normally wouldn’t do. Take turns being the designated “friend watcher” and be prepared to take some flack.
Never leave your drink unattended. Predators hang out in areas where they know that alcohol is involved and impairment will help them get their victim. Predators don’t have a tattoo on their forehead to let you know they are out to get you. They come in all shapes and sizes so it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Condom, condom, condom! In case you didn’t catch that - Condom! One time without a condom can ruin your life. Sexually transmitted diseases are an easy thing to get that no one wants. Don’t remember your Spring Break as a time you caught a disease.. remember it as the time you partied hardy with your friends!

Seven Reasons to Give Your Child an Allowance
By Marlin Rollins
The question of whether allowances are right or wrong, is one that has been argued for many generations. Now it’s your turn, as a parent, to decide whether or not an allowance is the best way to educate your child about financial responsibility. There are many reasons given on why a regular payment of money to a child should or shouldn’t be done - ultimately I believe there is no right answer, it is up to each individual family to decide what is the best option for them. Through many years of working with parents and educators, these are the top seven reasons I keep hearing on the question of why should kids get allowances.
1. They learn to be wise with how they spend their money. It may help to teach them how to prioritise their spending, & learn from an early age what things are a waste of money.
2. They learn how to save money. Having a regular amount of money, may make it easier for them to establish good saving habits, as a certain percentage of the money from each payment can be placed into a savings account/piggy bank. Without an allowance, any money they receive, may simply be spent, with nothing going to savings.
3. They learn how to donate their money. A certain percentage of their money can also be allocated to donations to the needy, hopefully encouraging your child to be more thoughtful of others, & not greedy with their money.
4. They will learn how to budget their money so it lasts between payments. Eventually, most children will learn to be careful how they spend what limited money they have, so they don’t run out of money. This will only happen, if the parent doesn’t give in to the initial whining for more money when the mistake is first made!
5. They can learn to make mistakes with small amounts of money. Kids will learn how to manage their finances responsibly far quicker through being allowed to make mistakes themselves (and suffering the consequences), rather than being told how they should be managing their money by someone else. Parents need to be there to guide their children on how they should spend their money, but not dictate (unless there could be serious consequences from their mistakes).
6. They may stop nagging you for money. The idea is, if they are receiving a regular amount of money, and they have a good understanding of how to budget it then they will never run out of money, so won’t keep pestering you for more. Realistically, it will probably never put a complete end to the nagging for money, but it should reduce it.
7. You may end up forking out less money. If you sit down, and add up how much money you give your child during the week & how much you spend on items for them (e.g. clothing), it may actually work out cheaper to give them an allowance, and make them responsible for a lot of their purchases.
As I mentioned earlier, an allowance isn’t necessarily the best option for every family, but these are some of the reasons why many parents & educators believe an allowance is the only way to go. Some families though, may not have enough room in the family budget to provide their children with a regular payment, or may simply not believe in it for their own personal reasons. Either way you choose, I have seen with my own eyes, children from each side of the fence who have grown up to be exceptional money managers, and likewise children who seem to have no idea. Ultimately, it comes down to how much guidance a child receives from their parents/guardians on money - whether through an allowance or not.

How to Permanently Rid Yourself of Procrastination
By Otto Wynn
Being successful in life is everyone’s goal. But most of us fail to avail the golden chances and opportunities, life presents us. The major reason behind this is we become victims of procrastination. Procrastination is a synonym for laziness. We get so lazy sometimes that we think that we have a long time to accomplish the task, knowing the task can take more time we assumed. Then we tend to do work in last moments and most of people fail to hold their patience and get tensed to that extent that they make situations worse or do the things in a wrong or ineffective manner. After that we mourn over our procrastination but now nothing can be restored. Thus, to emerge successful one needs to get rid of procrastination and this than be done in following manner:
First of all if you feel you are victim of procrastination you need to get organized. Get organized from today. The best way to start is with your room. Organize your room, your time, your life and your things. The sense of organization will bring stability in you and you will tend to stay organized, thus every time you see anything out of order, you will place it in a proper place. Slowly with passage of time you will imbibe a order in you, helping you to overcome your procrastination.
The next thing is to make a routine. Take your monthly planner with you and write down your short term as well as long term goals and also jot down ways to accomplish these tasks. Make a habit of doing the things as mentioned in your routine and make sure to mention even minor things like ironing of clothes in your routine. Though initially, you will find it hard to follow the routine but once if you started sticking to it, you will dwell the habit of doing things at specified period of time. This will help you in accomplishing your goals in a timely manner and thus you get rid of habit of not doing work on time. Drawing your future plans holds another advantage too. Earlier you had no work to do and could sit idle for hours but if you know what you need to do before hand, a pressure will always be there on you to do the things in timely manner, otherwise your other work will hamper.
Along with planning, managing your time in a productive manner always help you get rid of procrastination. You need to finish the tasks in the allotted time period and this organizes your lifestyle. Moreover, if you start managing your time well you will be always left with plenty of time at the end of day allowing you to carry other activities which was not feasible earlier due to your procrastination.
The most important aspect to get rid of your procrastination is to build just do it attitude. Always think it’s now or never whenever you feel like skipping the work or task that needs to be accomplished and you will always get rid of procrastination.
